I curse thee

She looked on in rapt fascination, as the blood dripped from her arm onto the table, like crimson petals falling in summer. No, it wasn’t painful. In fact, it brought relief to her. It gave her something else to think of other than him. Oh, how he had betrayed her so. It had cost her so much to put her trust, her faith in him. She had thought that perhaps, he was someone worthy. That she can actually have hope again. He had been deceptive all right. His joyful demeanour. His carefree ways. His smile that set butterflies fluttering in her stomach. His gentle touch that set her heart racing like the subway train at peak hours. They were all an act.

And as the blood petals drop, she began muttering the curse under her breath.
“Blood of mine
i summon thee,
I beseech thee.
Work your wonders
drain his life force.”

As the words left her mouth. and the blood continued dripping, a single tear ran its course down her face and mixed with the blood. The moonlight shone upon her face through a small slit in the curtains, illuminating her pale face. The rest of the room remained in darkness, save the tear. It glistened brightly in the darkness, like a diamond shining in a cave. The parchment on the table curled under the moistness of her blood and for an instant, she thought she heard a high-pitched giggle. She gasped as she stood up and the sound of the chair falling brought her back to her senses.

What had she done?!
